Nehls Describes Trump Civil Fraud Case as a 'Victimless Crime'

Representative Troy Nehls (R-TX) appeared on Newsmax over the weekend to share his thoughts concerning the New York civil fraud case that handed former President Donald Trump (R) a fine worth over $350 million.

It also provided President Trump a three-year ban from operating as a director of a New York corporation.

Rep. Nehls stated that he expected this sort of ruling from the New York justice system.

“I think President Trump expected something like this. I certainly did. And I think most of the American people have seen how far the left will go to try to damage him and actually destroy him,” said Rep. Nehls. “This is just more election interference. So, this will be reversed on appeal.”

He continued, “It’s a victimless crime is what it is. The banks didn’t lose any money. Nobody lost any money here. They just despise Donald Trump.”

The Texas congressman would go on to mention the figures in the New York justice system that are looking to “destroy” the former President.

“Whether it’s this nut job judge or its phony Fani [Willis], Letitia James, Alvin Bragg, they all have one thing in common: they despise Donald J. Trump, and they fear him. They fear him, because when he’s coming back, he’s coming back, America,” concluded Nehls.

When the decision was handed down on Feb. 16, Nehls provided an immediate reaction to the ruling.

“New York’s ruling against President Trump is just more election interference. The Left will do anything they can to prevent their top political opponent from taking back the White House. This political weaponization needs to be destroyed. Shameful,” said Nehls.

Additionally, Leader of the Republican Conference Representative Elise Stefanik (R-NY) released a statement concerning the ruling that was made in her home state.

“Tish James made clear her entire goal as New York's Attorney General was to prosecute President Donald Trump. James' unethical behavior and political bias are why I filed a bar complaint against her with the Attorney Grievance Committee, asking them to disbar her. This is just the latest example of the justice system being weaponized by extreme Democrats to try and stop President Trump from winning back the White House this November,” said Rep. Stefanik. “These deranged radical Leftists will stop at nothing, and nothing is off limits as they desperately try to keep Joe Biden, who is mentally incapable of being President, in power. The American people will not stand for this; they will elect President Trump as our 47th President of the United States.”

The 45th President has stated that he will appeal the decision.
