Cruz Scorches Joy Reid, Rep. Jayapal for Seemingly Laughing at Illegal Migrant's Rape/Murder of a Child

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) went off on MSNBC host Joy Reid and Representative Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) for appearing to laugh at Fox News after the network reported that a 13-year-old was raped and murdered by an illegal immigrant who arrived through the southern border.

Reid shared her thoughts surrounding nationwide coverage of President Joe Biden’s (D) latest actions concerning the southern border. Rep. Jayapal agreed that Fox News’ coverage consisted of “fearmongering.”

It can be seen below.

“Let me show you one of the reasons people have this sort of [fearmongering] thinking,” Reid stated. Here’s the three cable networks reporting on this. Our banner said ‘Soon Biden announces legal protections for undocumented spouses of U.S. citizens.’ CNN’s banner said ‘Biden announces new protections for some undocumented spouses.’ Here was Fox’s banner: ‘Migrant arrested for raping 13-year-old in New York.’” After this statement, it seems both Reid and Rep. Jayapal found the difference in coverage to be amusing.

However, the Texas senator responded to this display on his podcast “Verdict with Ted Cruz.”

“That laughter is sick. That is two elite, Democrat, media personalities and a member of Congress laughing at a 13-year-old girl who was violently raped by an illegal alien with a machete. And they laugh at it. And by the way, they're mocking why? Because Fox reported on it. They don't feel any guilt CNN didn't report on it. MSNBC didn't report on it. The corporate media, they don't even tell you this. They don't want you to know. Why are they laughing? What kind of sick person laughs at the rape of a child?” said Sen. Cruz.

He continued by sharing his experiences with these kinds of cases as Solicitor General of Texas.

“I gotta tell you before I was in the Senate, I spent a lot of years working in law enforcement. I spent five and a half years as Solicitor General of Texas," said Cruz. "I handled a lot of criminal cases. I argued a lot of appeals in the Supreme Court and the Fifth Circuit, the Texas Supreme Court. And the ones that make me the angriest, that just fill me with rage, are when evil bastards hurt children. I think there is a special circle of hell – I do not think there is anything worse than hurting children. And to listen to someone laughing at a 13-year-old being raped and mocking – They say ‘That's the fearmongering, you're reporting what's happening.’ No, actually reporting the news is not fearmongering. What you are doing is covering up the news because your political agenda matters more than the little girls who are being murdered and being raped.”

Ted Cruz has served as Senator of Texas since 2013.
