FL Rep Criticizes Media for 'Gaslighting' Americans, Saying VP Harris was never Border Czar

Representative Brian Mast (R-FL) is doubling down on his assertion that Vice President Kamala Harris (D) has always been the “Border Czar” since she was appointed to “lead the efforts” of the White House on the issue.

According to the Washington Post, illegal border crossings in the years 2021-2023 were at least 1.5 million in number and reached 2.2 million in 2022 – an all-time high.

In a recent blog post, the Florida congressman blasted the Biden-Harris administration as terrorists were apprehended at the southern border, following a trend of terrorists either attempting to come into the United States or even thought to have made it across into America.

“Three Palestinian terrorists were caught trying to cross our Southern Border. This is on top of the over half dozen that were caught just a few weeks ago,” said Rep. Mast. “Chinese communists, Islamic terrorists, drug traffickers, human traffickers, criminals, and lunatics are pouring into America every day because of the bringer crisis. They are undermining it at every level. And Joe Biden’s Border CZAR— Kamala Harris — is the architect of this crisis. Last week, six House Democrats admitted as much on the record when they voted to condemn her handling of the border.”

He continued by accusing the media of attempting to “gaslight” Americans into thinking VP Harris is not in any way responsible for what happened at the border during President Joe Biden’s tenure.

“The media and Biden’s flunkies are trying to gaslight YOU into ignoring this reality, but it couldn’t be more clear. Kamala is the BORDER CZAR. Kamala is responsible for this atrocity. What’s even worse is she wants illegal ALIENS pouring into our country to get citizenship as soon as possible. This is not how the system should work. Break the law and get rewarded? That’s the Biden-Harris agenda. Import the votes since they can’t get them any other way! I’ll keep fighting to secure our border,” said Mast.

Whether VP Harris was ever officially named Border Czar or not, it will be hard for her to distance herself from the border numbers. At the very least, VP Harris was given a large amount of responsibility concerning the border in March of 2021.

President Biden said this upon announcing Harris to the elevated position:

“So it’s not her full responsibility and job, but she’s leading the effort because I think the best thing to do is to put someone who, when he or she speaks, they don’t have to wonder about is that where the President is. When she speaks, she speaks for me. Doesn’t have to check with me. She knows what she’s doing, and I hope we can move this along.”

Kamala Harris is expected to face off against former President Donald Trump (R) on November 5.
