BREAKING: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is officially suspending but not ending his presidential campaign and has endorsed former President Donald Trump (R). He announced the suspension of his campaign from the race by taking his name off the ballot in battleground states. He encouraged his voters to vote for him in the secure blue and red states but did throw his support behind Trump in those swing states.
"I want everyone to know that I am not terminating my campaign. I am simply suspending it and not ending it. My name will remain on the ballot in most states. If you live in a blue state, you can vote for me without harming or helping President Trump or Vice President Kamala Harris, and in red states, the same will apply. I encourage you to vote for me, and [if] neither of the major party candidates wins 270 votes ... I could conceivably still end up in the White House in a contingent election," said RFK Jr. He said he is removing his name in "10 battleground states where my presence would be a spoiler" for President Trump.
The reasons for supporting Trump include his stances on free speech, the war in Ukraine, and "the war on our children." He also mentioned chronic illness as one of his main issues as well.
The now-former candidate and former Democrat began by speaking on the history of the Democrat Party and how it changed over time.
"The Democrats were the champions of the Constitutions, Civil Rights. The Democrats stood against authoritarianism, against censorship, against colonialism, imperialism, and unjust wars," said RFK Jr. "We were the party of labor, of the working class, party of government transparency, and the champion of the environment. Our party was the bulwark against big money interests and corporate power. True to its name, it was the party of democracy."
He continued by sharing the timeline of his departure from the party.
"As you know, I left that party in October because it had departed so dramatically on the core values that I grew up with. It had become the party of war, censorship, corruption, Big Pharma, Big Tech, Big [Agriculture], and big money."
He blasted the Democrat Party for "rigging" the primary in favor of the DNC-selected politicians, and not holding a primary to begin with.
RFK Jr. stated, "In an honest system, I believe I would've won the election."
