Roy Dismisses VP Harris' 'PR' Visit to the Southern Border

Congratulations are in order says Texas Rep. Chip Roy (R). The Texas Republican is congratulating Vice President Kamala Harris (D) for having "found the border on a map." The incumbent vice president has received scrutiny for her job as the "border czar." Regarding Vice President Harris' planned trip to the southern border, Rep. Roy is dismissing it as nothing more than a "PR" visit.

Earlier this month, Vice President Harris rolled out an advertisement that contained footage from President Donald Trump's (R) border wall. The advertisement received criticism from Republicans as they felt she's shifted her stance on the southern border. However, Republicans are accusing the vice president on wanting to appear "tough-on-the-border" while having a record that proves otherwise.

During an interview with Fox News, Rep. Roy discussed the vice president's upcoming visit to the border, admitting that the "PR" visit should distract from her mishandling of the border.

Calling her visit to the border "a show," the Texas congressman congratulated Vice President Harris because "she finally figured out how to get there [the border."

"Of course, she's doing that only for political purposes here right before the election," he expressed. "The only other time she's made it to the border was at a pit stop to a fundraiser. Guess what? She's got a fundraiser in Arizona," Rep. Roy added. "That's all this is about. It's a show."

Vice President Harris will be visiting Arizona where she will give a speech on border security and immigration. Ahead of the speech, she's released a new advertisement that's set to air in Arizona, and it will subsequently run in battleground states. The advertisement will focus on her immigration policy.

According to a senior Harris campaign official, the vice president will slam President Trump in her speech, criticizing him for not supporting a bipartisan border bill.
