Former RNC Chair Priebus Offers Buzzkill for Harris Campaign as New ABC Polling Released

Former RNC Chair and ABC News contributor Reince Priebus appeared on the network’s “This Week” program to discuss their latest polling in the 2024 presidential election. In the research, former President Donald Trump (R) is practically neck and neck with Vice President Kamala Harris (D) and leads the Democrat candidate on various issues.

Priebus spoke on this survey from ABC and some historical trends in the poll’s history.

“I mean, the reality is, is that for the first time in 32 years in this poll, it shows that Republicans are beating Democrats straight up,” said Priebus. “When you ask people a generic ballot, in 32 years, it shows that Donald Trump's doing better with black voters, Hispanic voters – off the charts. But what the most important thing is what happened last week is that what was working with female voters with Kamala Harris was that there was some feeling of joy in the air. Well, that joy is gone. She had a terrible week.”

Priebus also mentioned that Harris “picked a pointless fight with Ron DeSantis” in reference to their public feud during the aftermath of Hurricanes Helene and Milton.

Moreover, the former RNC Chair spoke on the media blitz VP Harris’ took on this week and her performance on national TV. He even compared her performance to a talented golfer who hasn’t won a major title since 2014 and came up short once again at the recent U.S. Open.

“She's losing in the Sun Belt, and she tried to recover by going on ‘The View’ which a lot of women watch … and she wanted to clarify the two most important issues that are facing these two candidates, the economy and immigration, and she bombed like Rory [McIlroy] at the U.S. Open, and she went out there and said there was nothing she would do that would be different than Joe Biden, and she created a campaign commercial for Donald Trump, and so she's trying to recover,” said Priebus.

“There is no joy here, and everybody knows it, and it's obvious that there is a leak in the balloon here in the Kamala Harris campaign,” he concluded.

Voters across the country will decide on Nov. 5 between former President Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris.
