Rep. Hunt Releases Christmas Message, Emphasizes 'Reason for the Season'

Representative Wesley Hunt (R-TX) has released a message to Texas' 38th Congressional District and the American public right before the Christmas holiday. In his video posted to social media, Rep. Hunt reminded Americans of the history of Christmas and the blessings that have been afforded to us in the United States.

"This is Congressman Wesley Hunt and on behalf of Emily and myself, we wish you a season of happiness and joy this Christmas. As we approach this holiday, May your days be full of happiness and holiday spirit, a spirit that recognizes the importance of family, friends and community," said Rep. Hunt. "We live in a country where family, faith and tradition are recognized and encouraged. Let's come together as Americans to enjoy a time of giving and celebrating unity with our neighbors. During this time of year, it is important to remember how far we have come as a nation."

Furthermore, the Texas congressman shared his thanks for his election to the House of Representatives once more, and thanked military servicemembers for their sacrifice.

"We have much to be thankful for, and as your congressman, you have my gratitude for putting your trust and faith in me to represent you in the halls of Washington. Let us rejoice in the privilege of freedom we have been offered by those who have bravely served our country. We will never forget the men and women who fought and died for this great nation and the families that they left behind," said Hunt.

Finally, Rep. Hunt asked Texans and Americans alike to remember the reason for the season, the birth of Jesus Christ.

"Above all else, let us not forget the true meaning of Christmas, the celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. So as we celebrate, let's reflect on the past, and let's look forward to the future, where we have unity, prosperity and security and our great nation once again, let the joy of this season inspire us to be better and to do better and to live better. I hope the magic of Christmas fills every corner of your home with joy now and always. May God bless you your families and this great nation, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year," concluded Hunt.
