Rep. Gill Addresses Judge Boasberg's Articles of Impeachment

Texas Rep. Brandon Gill (R) is doubling down on his call for the impeachment of U.S. District Judge James Boasberg, arguing that the judge has unlawfully interfered with President Donald Trump’s (R) efforts to enforce immigration policy.

This week, Rep. Gill introduced articles of impeachment against Judge Boasberg after the judge ruled against the Trump administration’s authority to deport illegal immigrants under the Alien Enemies Act of 1978.

In a recent interview with Fox Business, Rep. Gill accused Judge Boasberg of overstepping his constitutional authority.

“What President Trump is doing here by deporting members of the Tren de Aragua—who, by the way, are some of the most ruthless and brutal gang members on the globe—is using his statutory authority under the Alien Enemies Act and his plenary authority under Article 2 of the Constitution to carry out the United States’ foreign policy and to repel invasions,” the Texas lawmaker commented.

“This is entirely lawful for the president. What is not lawful is a rogue judge in the D.C. circuit court trying to usurp the president’s power to protect the American people.”

Judge Boasberg’s ruling has sparked intense debate, with conservatives arguing that judicial overreach is obstructing President Trump’s immigration policies. The judge’s decision effectively halted deportations under the president’s claimed authority, prompting President Trump to lash out on Truth Social, calling Judge Boasberg a “Radical Left Lunatic” who should be impeached.

Rep. Gill echoed the president’s frustrations, arguing that President Trump was fulfilling his campaign promises.

“President Trump was democratically given this power. He ran on this issue of protecting the people from illegal aliens. He’s executing on that mission. It is wrong, and I believe impeachable, for this judge to be usurping that power,” Rep. Gill addressed.
