Rep. Ronny Jackson
U.S. Representative Ronny Jackson (R) announced that the U.S. House passed the Fiscal Year 2026 National Defense Authorization Act (FY26 NDAA). The act was passed with a vote of 231-196, and includes several provisions advocated by Rep. Jackson.
The provisions will directly support Sheppard Air Force Base, the Pantex Plant, and the broader defense industrial base in Texas's 13th Congressional District.
"As a retired Navy Admiral, I can tell you the FY26 NDAA is a game-changer for our military readiness," Jackson Said. "I'm especially proud of the provisions I secured to ensure our district remains at the forefront of our national defense."
The Bill aligns with President Trump's (R) "Peace Through Strength" agenda by combining 45 of Trump's executive orders and legislative priorities. It seeks to improve acquisition processes, boost servicemember quality of life, and reestablish a merit-based promotion system to eliminate DEI programs.
Jackson sponsored key amendments 163 and 164.
Amendment 163 seeks to accelerate infrastructure upgrades at the Pantex Plant in Amarillo, enhancing America's nuclear deterrent by modernizing assembly and disassembly operations.
Amendment 164 will reform the leadership structure of the Office of the Attending Physician to Congress by reducing the rank to captain.
The FY26 NDAA now heads to the senate for consideration.
