Broward FOP Commemorates National Police Week, Honors Sacrifice and Service

BROWARD COUNTY, FL – As law enforcement agencies and communities across the nation prepare to observe National Police Week, the Broward Fraternal Order of Police proudly stands alongside the National Fraternal Order of Police in honoring the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, while recognizing the dedication of those who continue to serve our communities every day.

Each year in Washington, D.C., the National Fraternal Order of Police hosts memorial ceremonies, candlelight vigils, survivor events, and tributes attended by thousands of law enforcement officers, families, and supporters from across the country. These solemn observances serve as a powerful reminder that behind every badge is a commitment to service, sacrifice, and courage.

Locally, the Broward Fraternal Order of Police will host multiple events throughout Police Week to honor fallen officers, recognize acts of heroism, and strengthen the camaraderie that binds the law enforcement profession together.

“Our profession is built on sacrifice, unity, and service to others,” said Andrew LaFramboise. “Police Week is not only about remembering those we have lost, but also about standing shoulder to shoulder with the men and women who continue to answer the call every single day. The brotherhood and sisterhood of law enforcement is unlike any other, and this week reminds us why that bond is so important.”

Among the events being hosted locally are memorial gatherings, recognition ceremonies, and community-centered initiatives designed to bring together officers, families, supporters, and community leaders in a show of appreciation and solidarity.

Signature events include the annual Heroes Luncheon, which honors exceptional acts of bravery and service, as well as the “Back the Blue at the Brewery” memorial event, bringing together members of the law enforcement community and supporters from across South Florida.

The Broward Fraternal Order of Police also invites members of the community to stand alongside law enforcement during Police Week as they honor the courageous men and women behind the badge. These events provide an opportunity not only to remember fallen heroes, but also to strengthen the bond between law enforcement and the communities they serve.

The Broward FOP emphasizes that community support plays a critical role in uplifting officer morale and ensuring that the legacy of fallen heroes is never forgotten. Police Week serves as a reminder that public safety is a shared responsibility, and that strong relationships between officers and the communities they protect make Broward County stronger and safer for all.

National Police Week remains one of the most significant traditions within the law enforcement community, ensuring that the memory of fallen heroes endures and that current officers know their service and sacrifice are deeply valued.

The Broward Fraternal Order of Police encourages all residents to join in recognizing the courage, dedication, and humanity of the men and women who protect and serve Broward County every day.
