One Nuclear Energy and Sunshine Partners have signed a letter of intent to evaluate large-scale energy development projects across more than 18,000 acres in West Texas, with plans that could include natural gas, advanced nuclear energy, battery storage, solar power, data centers, and advanced manufacturing facilities.
ONE Nuclear Energy LLC and Sunshine Partners US LLC announced a new partnership to evaluate the development of energy infrastructure projects across a portfolio of fine sites totaling approximately 18,275 acres in West Texas.
The sites, collectively known as the West Texas Platform, span five counties within the ERCOT West market and are being considered for a variety of energy and industrial projects designed to support Texas's growing electricity demands.
The companies signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) that will allow them to explore commercial opportunities and development pathways across the properties.
According to the companies, the sites may support several types of energy and industrial infrastructure, including:
The partnership comes as electricity demand continues to rise across Texas, driven by artificial intelligence computing, hyperscale data centers, industrial expansion, and broader electrification efforts.
ONE Nuclear CFO and CIO Coen Weddepohl: "This platform represents a compelling opportunity to help address one of the most important energy challenges facing the United States - delivering reliable, scalable power where demand is growing fastest."
Sunshine Partners CEO Marcus Jacobsson: "Together, these sites form a highly strategic energy ecosystem within ERCOT West."
West Texas remains one of the nation's most important energy-producing regions due to its abundant land, extensive transmission infrastructure, strong solar resources, and proximity to rapidly growing electricity demand centers.
The companies believe the combination of transmission access, water resources, available acreage, and existing energy infrastructure positions the region to play a major role in supporting future industrial development and grid reliability.
