ONE Nuclear, Sunshine Partners Explore Major West Texas Energy Development

One Nuclear Energy and Sunshine Partners have signed a letter of intent to evaluate large-scale energy development projects across more than 18,000 acres in West Texas, with plans that could include natural gas, advanced nuclear energy, battery storage, solar power, data centers, and advanced manufacturing facilities.

What was announced?

ONE Nuclear Energy LLC and Sunshine Partners US LLC announced a new partnership to evaluate the development of energy infrastructure projects across a portfolio of fine sites totaling approximately 18,275 acres in West Texas.

The sites, collectively known as the West Texas Platform, span five counties within the ERCOT West market and are being considered for a variety of energy and industrial projects designed to support Texas's growing electricity demands.

The companies signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) that will allow them to explore commercial opportunities and development pathways across the properties.

What could be built?

According to the companies, the sites may support several types of energy and industrial infrastructure, including:

• Natural gas power generation
• Advanced nuclear energy facilities
• Solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) generation
• Utility-scale solar projects
• Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
• Data centers
• Advanced manufacturing facilities

The partnership comes as electricity demand continues to rise across Texas, driven by artificial intelligence computing, hyperscale data centers, industrial expansion, and broader electrification efforts.
