Texas Republican Delegation Urges Senate Action on Reconciliation 3.0

Representatives Ronny Jackson (R), John Carter (R), Jodey Arrington (R), and 20 additional members of the Texas Republican congressional delegation sent a letter to President Donald Trump supporting the House-passed budget resolution to advance Reconciliation 3.0.

Texas Lawmakers support reconciliation package.

The letter, signed by 23 Texas Republican lawmakers, calls on the Senate to pass the budget resolution without delay to unlock Reconciliation 3.0 and advance Republican priorities.

The lawmakers said the resolution would allow Congress to address issues involving:

  • National Defense funding.
  • Support for farmers and ranchers.
  • Election security measures.

The Texas lawmakers argued that additional defense funding is needed to support U.S. military operations and provide resources for American service members.

In the letter, the delegation urged the Senate to approve $67 billion in supplemental defense funding through reconciliation, citing the need to support troops and provide necessary military resources.

Texas Republican delegation letter: "Congress must provide them with the supplemental munitions they need to finish the job and come home safely."

The lawmakers expressed support for President Trump, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, and members of the U.S. armed forces while calling on Congress to act.

Lawmakers seek agricultural assistance.

The letter also highlights concerns facing Texas farmers and ranchers, including increased input costs and economic challenges affecting agricultural producers.

The delegation said food security is directly connected to national security and urged Congress to provide $11 billion in emergency food production support through reconciliation.

Texas Republican delegation letter: "Food security is national security, and, therefore, we urge the Senate to provide $11 billion in emergency food production support through reconciliation."

The House has done its job.

Rep. Jackson said the House has already acted by approving a budget framework that reflects Republican priorities.

He argued the Senate should move forward so Congress can deliver funding and policy changes supported by voters.

Rep. Ronny Jackson: "The House has done its job by passing a budget framework that advances those priorities. Now it's time for the Senate to act so we can deliver on the critical defense funding, agricultural assistance, and SAVE America Act policies that Texans and Americans are counting on."
