Senator Ted Cruz and Dallas Mavericks Owner Mark Cuban got into a bit of a Twitter tussle today after Cuban tweeted at Cruz accusing him of wanting the three NBA teams in Texas “to do poorly.”
Cruz, like many lifelong fans (Lakers fan here) of NBA basketball, is disgusted over how the league has politicized the game by anchoring the 2020 season to the criminal Black Lives Matter movement by allowing players to rename their jerseys and by branding the actual playing court with “Black Lives Matter.”
Cruz responded to Cuban by telling the Shark Tank investor that the “NBA is engaged in a concerted effort to insult fans and turn every game into a left-wing political lecture.”
"I love @HoustonRockets & have rooted for them my entire life. I happily cheer for the Spurs & Mavericks against any non-TX team. But @mcuban the NBA is engaged in a concerted effort to (1) insult their fans & (2) turn every game into a left-wing political lecture. That’s dumb."
Cuban responded in turn, using colorful language to disagree with the two-term senator
“You are so full of shit,” tweeted Cuban. You haven't watched a game of the finals, how would you know what is being said or done? Since when is a desire to end racism an insult to anyone or political? And you don't think using #GetWokeGoBroke is a partisan insult? Again, this is who you are."
Cruz responded with a jab against Cuban’s investments with Communist China:
