Texas Governor Greg Abbott has asserted his position that he will not lock down the state under any circumstance, saying that “If you lock people down, it's going to put them into confined areas where they can transmit the virus.”

“No more lockdowns in the state of Texas,” stated Gov. Abbott.” We set broad-based guidelines,” and the one “thing that government needs to do is not micromanage the lives of everyone else.”

“Along the course of dealing with the pandemic, we’ve all learned what works and what doesn’t work.”- Gov. Greg Abbott

Abbott made the remarks on Fox and Friends Monday, adding that Regeneron, the antibody therapy that President Donald Trump used, is already available to be distributed to “hotspots” like the city of Lubbock, and will keep people out of hospitals.”

In addition, Abbott said that vaccines may soon be available in Texas in as little as three weeks, as AstraZeneca has just announced that its COVID-19 vaccine is 90% effective in their respective trials.
