Texas Representative Wesley Hunt (R) went to social media to discuss the "hostage crisis" in the Israel-Hamas war. Several reports show that multiple hostages are being held in Gaza and negotiations have stalled in recent days.

The tweet was accompanied by a video from a CNN news segment. In the video, the anchor stated that multiple U.N. officials have told them that it is unlikely that hostage negotiations would resume anytime soon.
The White House released info showing that there is one American woman and seven men unaccounted for after the Oct. 7 Hamas attack on Israel. U.S. National Security Adviser, Jake Sullivan, stated that "securing the hostages' release is of paramount priority."
Hamas' deadly attack on Israel resulted in multiple casualties totaling at least 1,200 people. Israel has responded in a strong format and has bombed the northern Gaza region. After a truce that lasted multiple days, Israel and Hamas have resumed their war. Israel has begun bombing the southern Gaza region as they continue to complete their mission of eradicating Hamas.
As the Israel-Hamas war continues, 56 U.S. lawmakers called for a ceasefire in Gaza. The lawmakers state their approval of Israel's right to defend itself but disagree with what they claim are humanitarian issues stemming from Israel's retaliation to Hamas' brutal Oct. 7 attack.
As Israel and Hamas exchange hostages and prisoners, Texas Representative Beth Van Duyne (R) is calling for the release of more Israeli hostages. So far, 81 Israeli hostages have been released under the cease-fire between Israel and Hamas.o
