Representative Wesley Hunt (R-TX) commented on the growing tensions between the United States and Iran as the Middle Eastern nation has grown bolder in the past few weeks.

The Texas congressman made the assertion that this behavior would not be happening if former President Donald Trump (R) still sat at the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office instead of President Joe Biden (D).

“Would Iran behave this way if President Trump were still in office? Ask Qasem Soleimani. Oh, that’s right you can’t, because he’s dead. Ask Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. Oh, you can’t ask him either, because, ‘he died like a dog.’ Here’s the God’s honest truth, and I know it makes some people uncomfortable, but Americans would stop dying if we had a President who made our enemies fear us. Donald Trump did that,” said Rep. Hunt.

He continued along the hypothetical of a second Trump term by saying that the U.S. would not have to be considering responding to the deaths of American military personnel if he was in office.

“We wouldn’t be hearing conversations about retaliatory strikes against Iran right now if Donald John Trump were still POTUS. Emily and I grieve the loss of Sgt. William Jerome Rivers, Spc. Kennedy Ladon Sanders, and Spc. Breonna Alexsondria Moffett. We pray for them and their families in this overwhelming moment of sadness. Weakness invites chaos and chaos leads to more chaos,” said Hunt.

Finally, the Texas congressman shared a laundry list of what he believes are President Biden’s failures during his tenure as President.

“In just over three years, we have seen enough chaos from Joe Biden to last a lifetime. Our country is being invaded by millions, Afghanistan has been returned to the Taliban, war rages in Eastern Ukraine, Chinese aggression grows, Israel was attacked, and now Iran is murdering U.S. soldiers with drones,” said Rep. Hunt. “The Biden Administration may be the worst thing that has ever happened to this country and the globe. If this choice isn’t clear to you by now, then there’s nothing left anyone could do or say to convince you otherwise. We need President Trump back in the White House.”

Congressman Hunt represents Texas’ 38th Congressional District.
