Hunt Criticizes Biden for Border Insecurity After University Student Murdered by Illegal Immigrant

Representative Wesley Hunt (R-TX) called out President Joe Biden (D) for not securing the border after an Augusta University student, Laken Riley was murdered by an illegal immigrant from Venezuela.

The Texas congressman said that the Democratic Party cannot continue to be the “party of women” if tragedies such as these occur frequently.

“Joe Biden can’t even say Laken Riley’s name but he calls on House Republicans to ‘compromise’ on border security? I’ve got a better idea. SECURE THE BORDER. As Commander-in-Chief, you have the power to shut this invasion down,” Rep. Hunt said. “How do we know that? Because your executive orders opened it up in the first place. How many more innocent Americans have to be murdered before this President does something? Democrats can’t be ‘the party of women’ while their policies keep getting women killed. Do your job President Biden.”

Furthermore, Rep. Hunt released a video on Thursday calling upon President Biden, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) to take action at the southern border.

The Texas congressman pointed out that the results of former President Donald Trump (R) at the border are proof that President Biden is simply allowing the border crisis to happen.

“President Biden and Secretary Mayorkas deliberately created a crisis at our southern border. How do we know it was deliberate? Because under President Trump, we weren’t talking about more than seven million illegal alien encounters at the southern border,” said Rep. Hunt. “You see, we weren’t talking about enough fentanyl smuggled in to kill every single American. We weren’t talking about illegal aliens boarding flights all over the U.S. without valid ID.”

He continued by acknowledging Biden and Mayorkas’ record as it pertains to illegal immigration.

“From the outside, President Biden and Secretary Mayorkas issued executive actions that weaken our national security. They terminated Remain in Mexico, they stopped the construction of the border wall. Their actions encouraged fraudulent asylum claims. The sad part is, Biden and Mayorkas pretend like their hands are tied. They act like it’s an unfortunate circumstance that they are ‘working hard to fix,’ said Rep. Hunt. In my home state of Texas, we know they’re not doing a damn thing to stop this invasion. We have cropped fields, ranches damaged by illegal border crossers, communities ravaged by cartel violence.”

Congressman Hunt represents Texas’ 38th District.
