Roy Says 2024 Election is About Having 'A Safe Country'

President Donald Trump (R) and Vice President Kamala Harris (D) finally met on the debate stage in Pennsylvania. As voters heard from both candidates, lawmakers are sharing what the upcoming election means to them. Texas Rep. Chip Roy (R) is now warning that voters will decide in November whether they want “a safe country” or not.

Footage from a Springfield city council meeting that took place last month made headlines this week after a resident from Springfield, Ohio questioned the city council members.

The resident, concerned about an influx of illegal immigration, shared his experience of seeing Haitian immigrants grabbing ducks, cutting their heads off, and eating them. The passionate plea from the resident has generated a discussion on social media with Texas Senator Ted Cruz (R) sharing a meme in response to the concern.

Another lawmaker who’s sharing a similar concern is Rep. Roy, who recently discussed the matter on FOX News, warning that “we have a choice to make as Americans.”

“This is one of those things that people say we’re trying to exploit for political reasons,” Rep. Roy explained to Harris Faulkner during an interview. “Are we going to live in a safe country? Or are we going to allow our country to become basically a third world dangerous place?”

“What we’re seeing right now – just 30 miles from right here – I’m in the Capitol building, out in Manassas, you have an individual who pulled a teenage girl into a car, posing as a law enforcement officer, and then he abducted her,” Rep. Roy explained.

“This is happening in real time across this country.”

“This man is from Peru. He was released in December, by this Administration, into the United States, purposefully,” he continued.

The Texas Republican has criticized the Biden Administration over its “open border” policy, warning that it has led to disastrous results in the country.
