The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) preliminary revision of its monthly employment figures has incited conservatives to question the legitimacy of the Biden-Harris’ administration’s employment reports.

BLS recently published a downward revision of its employment figures between April 2023 and March 2024, removing nearly one million jobs it had originally accounted for.

The revision follows similar revisions in earlier months, which reported the creation of hundreds of thousands of jobs that turned out to be nonexistent.

Given President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have consistently campaigned on their ‘bidenomics’ economic achievements, BLS’ downward revision has prompted conservative criticism.

US Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) sent a letter to BLS Commissioner Erika L. McEntarfer requesting answers on the significant downward nobs revision.

Senator Scott claimed BLS’s repeated downward revisions are concerning and “terrifying.”

“These substantial and continual reporting errors certainly do not inspire confidence,” said Scott.

Scott cited comments made by Federal Reserve officials alluding to the incorrect BLS’ data as a factor influencing the Fed’s caution in dropping rates.

“More distressing than these sizable revisions are recent comments by the leader of the United States central bank…who stated on September 18th that other data they have reviewed “suggests the payroll report numbers that we're getting may be artificially high and will be revised down,” continued Scott. “The Federal Reserve is mentally adjusting for that fact in its decision making to determine monetary policy and the federal fund target rate.”

Scott has been joined by fellow Republicans in criticizing the Biden-Harris’ economic policies.

US Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL) claimed “our nation IS NOT better-off than we were four years ago because Harris & Biden FAILED US.”

Meanwhile, the Biden-Harris administration has been celebrating alleged small-business growth, according to the latest data from the US Treasury department.

“President Biden and I know that small businesses are the backbone of our communities,” said Harris. “Thanks to our Administration’s historic investments in the success and growth of small businesses, there have been a record breaking 19 million new small business applications since President Biden and I took office."
