Van Duyne Says Dems 'Demonize the American Energy Industry'

With just one day to go until voters head to the polls, Texas Rep. Beth Van Duyne (R) says that "energy independence" is on the voting table. Republicans and Democrats have been divided on the issues of climate change and energy independence, but the Texas congresswoman believes that energy is a crucial issue for Texas voters. During an appearance on Cats & Cosby, Rep. Van Duyne claimed Democrats "demonize the American energy industry."

"Let's face it, [Democrats] demonize the entire American energy industry," Rep Van Duyne argued during a conversation with John Catsimatidis and Rita Cosby. During their conversation, the Texas lawmaker discussed the importance of the United States ensuring energy independence, suggesting that Vice President Kamala Harris (D) would make it difficult to achieve energy independence.

"It's not as if we are not seeing demand increasing," she continued. "Texas is the number one consumer of energy, the number one producer, so we've seen it firsthand."

Rep. Van Duyne assured that Texans "understand what's at stake" when it comes to the upcoming election, saying that the state wants to ensure "that we've got American independence on energy, that we are able to actually fight back some of our adversaries of other nations by having that American energy, and seeing what it does to cut down inflation, where it's actually affordable."

"Those are the policies that are on the table right now," she warned.

Polls indicate that the race between President Trump and Vice President Harris are still too close to call, and both candidates have vastly opposing views when it comes to energy.

"Republicans were able to pass out of the House, our H.R. 1, which is our energy bill," Rep. Van Duyne reminded. "We've got the solutions. We just have to have an opportunity to implement them, and we have to have a president in the White House who is willing to sign them."
