Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) raised over $50 million in 2024, showing his strong political outreach in the Lone Star state.
The Texas governor is up for reelection in 2026, but his 2024 fundraising numbers prove the governor's popularity has translated to a strong financial backing.
He recently announced that he raised a combined total of more than $50 million in 2024, showing that $45 million had been raised for Texans for Greg Abbott and over $6 million had been raised for the Greg Abbott Campaign. The latter reported nearly $70 million cash on hand by the end of 2024.

In a statement, Kim Snyder, the Texans for Greg Abbott campaign manager, commented on the governor's leadership.
"The strong support our campaign received is a clear indication of the trust Texans have in Governor Abbott and his stead fast, conservative leadership," she said. "Raising over $50 million from every corner of the state showcases the strength of the Governor's vision for Texas," she adding, informing that "with nearly $70 million cash on hand, we are fully equipped to continue delivering on Governor Abbott's mission to keep Texas a beacon of freedom and opportunity for generations."
In the announcement, Governor Abbott's office shared that he had raised over $21.5 million from more than 33,690 individuals in the most recent reporting period. Moreover, $84 of the funds were raised from Texans, and more than 94,600 contributions came from all fifty states.
The governor has maintained a hardline stance on immigration, pushing back against the Biden Administration with controversial efforts to curb the rise of illegal immigration. However, criticism has been recently directed to the state, claiming that Texas isn't as "small government" as its leadership would have you believe.
Texas Rep. Brian Harrison (R) took to social media to share that the Lone Star state is among the most regulated states in the country. As of 2023, the state has registered 274,469 total regulation restrictions, placing it among the top 5 most regulated states in the U.S.
