“In our neighborhoods and in the halls of power, we all should agree that an unaccountable billionaire should not be stripping our government down to sell it off for parts to make money for himself and his friends.”

Texas Rep. Greg Casar (R) has shared a fiery plea on social media, calling for Elon Musk to be fired.

Musk’s influence in American politics has angered Democrats, and as the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) continues to suggest cuts to the federal government, Democrats are warning of the repercussions.

In a public service announcement posted on X, Rep. Casar urges lawmakers to pressure the White House into cutting ties with Musk. Rep. Casar argues that Musk’s growing influence in American politics is detrimental to public institutions and social programs.

“We don’t need to fire public health workers at USAID. We don’t need to fire teachers at the Department of Education. We don’t need to fire air traffic controllers at the FAA. We need to fire Elon Musk,” he states in the video.

Musk’s recent engagements with President Donald Trump (R) and other Republicans has generated concern among progressives that he is using his wealth and platforms to push conservative policies.

The Texas lawmaker went on to accuse Musk of undermining public institutions for personal and financial gain, warning, “In our neighborhoods and in the halls of power, we all should agree that an unaccountable billionaire should not be stripping our government down to sell it off for parts to make money for himself and his friends.”

Rep. Casar also criticized House Republicans for remaining mum on the issue, alleging that Musk is working to threaten vital social programs, including health care for seniors, Social Security, and meal programs for children.

Because of the threat that Musk allegedly poses, Rep. Casar went on to demand urgent action, saying, “we should use every legislative tool we have, every tool we have in our courts. All of our public pressure, we should bring together our community to say we’re going to slow things down in Congress until we get rid of Elon Musk.”

Musk has not publicly responded to Casar’s comments as he usually does with X posts.
