President Donald Trump (R) announced last weekend that the United States had conducted a bombing on three Iranian nuclear sites, calling them a "complete and total success." Worry about Iran's possible retaliation has begun to stir, and Republicans and Democrats are divided on the attack.
As expected, staunch supporters of the president have shared their support over the bombings on social media, suggesting that the attacks were necessary.
On X, Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R) downplayed the idea that the bombing could lead to World War 3 or American soldiers being deployed to Iran, writing that the attack would instead lead to "long term stability in the Middle East and a safer future for Americans." "Because the regime that wanted 'Death to the Great Satan' is at its end," he wrote.
Support President Trump.
You think these decisions were easy? They weren’t.
You think this means WW3? You’re wrong.
You think it means American soldiers deploying to Iran? You’re wrong.

Governor Greg Abbott (R) also shared support for the bombing, adding that Texas will have federal officials on standby in the event that a retaliatory attack takes place in the Lone Star state.
"To ensure the highest level of safety in our communities, and out of an abundance of caution, Texas is elevating the readiness of our Texas Department of Public Safety troopers and Texas National Guard, increasing patrols around high-risk locations and ensuring our state is fully prepared to address any threat," he shared on X.
As we unite as a Nation, we as a state must remain vigilant to secure our homeland. To ensure the highest level of safety in our communities, and out of an abundance of caution, Texas is elevating the readiness of our Texas Department of Public Safety troopers and Texas National…

Texas Democrats however were less welcoming of the attack, criticizing the president over his alleged unconstitutional decision.
Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D) reiterated that only Congress can decide an attack of that stature, writing, "Congress must authorize military force before any president - including Trump - launches a strike."
Here is yet another reminder that the Constitution is not optional…
Congress must authorize military force before any president—including Trump—launches a strike.

Rep. Greg Casar (D) shares a similar message, writing that it's illegal for the president "to drag America into another endless foreign war."
"Congress should immediately pass a War Powers Resolution to block Trump from carrying out an unconstitutional war," he warned.
It is illegal for Donald Trump to drag America into another endless foreign war.
Congress should immediately pass a War Powers Resolution to block Trump from carrying out an unconstitutional war.
My entire adult life, politicians have promised that new wars in the Middle East…
