Representative August Pfluger (R-TX) detailed his efforts to block foreign adversaries and terrorist sympathizers from entering or remaining in the United States during an interview with Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo. Pfluger stressed the importance of a secure border and improved tracking of individuals on terror watchlists.
“When you ask if we have people inside the United States who match the terror watch list but whose locations are unknown, the answer is yes,” Rep. Pfluger said.
He warned that unaccounted-for individuals pose serious national security risks, calling it “the danger of not having a secure border.”
Rep. Pfluger credited the current administration with enforcing immigration laws more rigorously than in the past but criticized previous lax policies that allowed millions of undocumented immigrants to enter without proper oversight.
To combat these threats, Pfluger introduced legislation focused on tightening border security and enhancing efforts to find and monitor individuals flagged on terror watchlists.
“We’re working with the administration, with Mr. Homan, Secretary Noem, and others, to locate those individuals and ensure they never harm the United States,” he explained.
His remarks come amid heightened GOP calls for stronger border enforcement and national security measures. The bill aims to improve collaboration between federal agencies and local authorities to prevent terrorist threats from going unnoticed inside the country.
Observers note that Pfluger’s approach underscores Republican priorities on immigration control and counterterrorism ahead of ongoing debates in Congress.
