Soluna Holdings, a New York-based developer of renewable-powered data centers, has launched two new projects in Texas, pushing its total portfolio to 1 gigawatt (GW) of low-emission computing capacity across operational, under-construction, and planned sites.
The new developments, Project Fei and Project Gladys, are strategically co-located with large-scale renewable energy assets. Project Fei, a 100-megawatt (MW) data center in northern Texas, will neighbor a 240-MW solar farm.
“Getting these projects from development to operational will put us on par with some of the biggest companies in the world when it comes to clean-powered computing capacity, including Amazon, Meta, and Google,” said Soluna CEO John Belizaire.
As AI and hyperscale computing continue to accelerate, the demand for sustainable, grid-friendly digital infrastructure is surging. The American Society of Civil Engineers warns that aging transmission systems need major upgrades. These upgrades will handle 125 GW of new data computing load by the early 2030s.
Soluna’s projects aim to bridge that gap by pairing computed infrastructure directly with renewable energy generation.
