Texas Leaders have issued statements commemorating the victims of the deadly October 7, 2023, attacks on Israel. It marks two years since Hamas terrorists launched a brutal and unprovoked assault, killing 1,000 civilians and taking hundreds hostage.

"Two years ago today, Hamas launched a barbaric and unprovoked assault on Israel, slaughtering innocent men, women, and children," said Representative Pfluger (R). "This evil cannot stand, and antisemitism must be outright condemned and confronted."

Pfluger praised Donald Trump's (R) efforts toward securing a ceasefire and the return of the hostages.

"I remain committed to supporting President Trump's work to ensure an atrocity like October 7 never happens again," he affirmed.

Governor Abbott (R) issued a proclamation designating October 7, 2025, as a statewide Day of Observance for Israel, calling for a moment of silence at 7:00 AM Central Time.

"The State of Texas recognizes the inherent value of life and condemns all acts of hate," Abbott said. "We must reiterate our position that hatred and evil have no place in our world as we honor and remember the victims."

Senator Cornyn (R) echoed the sentiment.

"Two years ago, we witnessed evil in its purest form... I commend President Trump for working tirelessly to ensure lasting peace in the region."

As Israel continues to seek justice and recovery, Texas leaders reaffirmed their solidarity with America's closest ally in the Middle East.
