U.S. Congressman Wesley Hunt is calling for a generational shift in leadership as speculation builds around the upcoming U.S. Senate race in Texas. In an interview with Fox Business Network, Hunt emphasized that the race should not revolve around political rivalries, but focus on the future of Texas and America.

"This Senate race needs to be about the people of Texas," said Hunt. "The United States Senate is not a retirement community. It's time for fresh, young, America First leaders to step into the fray and fight for the policies that got President Trump elected in the first place."

Hunt, one of the first in the county to endorse President Donald Trump in the 2024 election cycle, has served as a vocal proponent of "America First" policies.

During the interview, Hunt distanced himself from any internal Republican conflicts.

"This cannot be about a blood feud between Ken Paxton and John Cornyn. It's got to be about the issues that impact us the most," he commented.

He also pointed to examples of younger leadership already serving in top federal roles.

"Our current Vice President is 41 years old, our Secretary of State is in his early fifties, and our Secretary of Defense is in his mid-40s," Hunt noted. "Our Founders created this nation in their 20s and 30s. Now, President Trump realizes that the next generation must carry the banner forward."

With Hunt announcing a campaign for the Senate, he has made it clear that he intends to play a leading role in shaping the future of the Republican Party in Texas and nationally.
