U.S. Representative Chip Roy (R) is pressing the San Antonio Airport (SAT) for answers after reports surfaced that the airport refused to display a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) video, which addresses the ongoing government shutdown and its impact on Transportation Security Administration (TSA) operations.

Roy expressed disappointment in a letter to SAT Officials, citing his long-standing collaboration with the airport on key issues, including efforts to secure a direct flight from San Antonio to Washington Reagon and addressing the 2019 controversy surrounding the attempted ban of Chick-Fil-A.

"I find it troubling that an institution receiving federal government funds refuses to show a video from the DHS secretary explaining how the shutdown is tangibly affecting airport wait times, operations, and personnel," wrote Roy.

He emphasized that transparency is essential, especially when federal operations directly affect travelers and employees.

Roy also pointed out that the House of Representatives has passed legislation to fund TSA and airport operations. He characterized the current lapse of funding as "an undeniably Democrat-led federal government shutdown."

He urged SAT Officials to review their decision and correct what he described as an "error" if reports are accurate.

Roy, who visited SAT during the 2019 shutdown to meet with TSA employees, reiterated his commitment to supporting federal workers and ensuring travelers receive accurate information regarding operational impacts.
