U.S. Senator John Cornyn's (R) Senate campaign is facing scrutiny after a Texas lawmaker publicly denied endorsing him despite being listed as a supporter.
The controversy began when the Cornyn campaign released a list of endorsements for the ongoing Senate race, which included Texas state Rep. Patrick Curry (R) of Waco. Shortly after, Curry pushed back in a public statement, rejecting the claim.
"For the record, I have not and did not endorse in this race," Curry wrote on X. "I have made that clear when asked as recently as last week. I resent anyone assuming or speaking on my behalf. I acknowledge all of my endorsements only in writing. Please remove my name immediately."

The dispute quickly drew in Cornyn's primary opponent, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who seized on the moment to criticize the senator.
