Defend Forgotten America Action Backs Trump's Ratepayer Protection Pledge

Conservative activist group and think tank Defend Forgotten America Action (DFAA) has released a new video in support of President Donald Trump's Ratepayer Protection Pledge.

With technology, especially artificial intelligence (AI), advancing at unprecedented rates, efforts to harness its potential without leaving Americans behind have been a priority of the Trump Administration.

One example is the Ratepayer Protection Pledge, a voluntary agreement between tech firms and the federal government to prevent taxpayers from footing the bill for the construction and energy consumption of new data centers.

Opposition to the construction of data centers has been mounting, driven by the same fear of price hikes.

For instance, in Fort Meade, Florida, the city commission voted unanimously in favor of a developer agreement to build a hyperscale data center despite strong community opposition rooted in energy costs, noise and light pollution, heat, and health concerns.

DFAA acknowledged the concerns in a short video titled "No Community Left Behind" in support of the Ratepayer Protection Pledge.

The video, narrated by DFAA founder Jenn Pellegrino, begins with her saying, "The AI revolution is here. It brings enormous promise — new industries, better jobs, and economic growth that could define the next generation. And America cannot afford to lose this race to China."

"But we also can't ignore the lessons of the past. Globalization hollowed out too many forgotten communities. We won't let technological disruption do the same," Pellegrino continued. "That's why President Trump's rate-payer protection pledge matters. It holds big corporations accountable —ensuring their investments strengthen American workers and American communities, not just corporate bottom lines.

Pellegrino concluded by saying, "That's what America First leadership looks like. And at the state and local level, Defend Forgotten America Action is committed to the same balanced, common-sense approach — embracing innovation while protecting the people who built this country. No community left behind. Not this time."
