The Michael McCaul (R) campaign continues to launch political advertisement attacks against its Progressive Democratic opponent Mike Siegel, and it comes in the form of a new advertisement titled “Extreme.”
In the advertisement, the campaign argues that it is “highlighting radical Mike Siegel’s support for socialist policies that would fundamentally change the way of life for millions of Texans.”
Evan Albertson, Michael McCaul’s campaign manager, released a statement commenting on the advertisement, and Albertson detailed that “when Texas families send someone to Congress, they expect their representative to fight tooth and nail on their behalf.” Moreover, “that’s why they can’t trust Mike Siegel.”
Albertson expressed that “Siegel is more loyal to far-left politicians in Washington than he is to the people of TX-10,” noting that “Siegel would rather threaten Texans’ livelihoods with a job-killing agenda than jeopardize his spot on AOC’s squad.”
In turn, Albertson asserted that “Texans want elected officials to solve problems but the only thing they can count on Mike Siegel to do is raise middle class taxes, increase burdensome regulations, and recklessly spend their hard-earned money on a never-ending array of socialist policies.”
In the advertisement, a voter named Tara warns that Siegel is a threat to the Lone Star state because his “support for the Green New Deal means higher utility bills and higher gas prices.”
This is also an attack that has been launched to Julie Oliver (D), another Democratic hopeful vying for a seat in Texas’ congress.
Most recently, she penned an article titled “Our Government Isn’t Progressive – but America is.”
In the article, Oliver double downs on her support for the same policies that Siegel supports, which include “Medicare for all” and the “Green New Deal.” “I’m not fighting for these issues because wealthy donors or special interests told me they poll well,” she expressed, adding that she’s “fighting for them because they’re in the best interests of the people I hope to represent.”
