If you are locked in one of the toughest, most competitive congressional races in the state of Texas, and your name happens to be Rep. Chip Roy (R), then you better be ready on election day to press for every single vote. It appears as if Rep. Roy has jumpstarted his day with a not-so-healthy breakfast burrito. Roy has tweeted out a picture of his morning meal that was laid out over his lap as he sat in the driver's seat of an automobile.
Texas has a no driving while texting law, but nothing on the books about eating and driving. Now, we don't know if Roy was actually driving and eating, but the likelihood that he was is pretty good.
Eating a burrito while driving is probably one of the safest ways to eat and drive, but Roy still runs the risk of dripping juice or cheese down the front of his shirt, which would be a big problem.
Full Disclosure: This very morning, I was driving while eating yogurt with almonds. It did not go well. Within 5 minutes and 3 traffic stops, I managed to decorate my black t-shirt with the yummy banana-strawberry delight.
Roy's Democratic opponent, former Texas legislator Wendy Davis, is also out and about pressing for every last vote. No word on what she had for breakfast.
Polls close at 8 pm in Texas.
