The political "lovefest" between Conservative Sen. Ted Cruz and former TV witch and current progressive Alyssa Milano continues as the outspoken Trump-hating actress commented on a tweet Sen. Cruz put out calling Democrats "the party of the rich," and also blamed Republicans for "blocking covid relief."
"This is hilarious," responded Milano. " Why is the GOP blocking covid relief from working class families if it’s the party of working class? Or blocking the bill to raise minimum wage to 15 dollars an hour. Sit down."
Sen. Cruz quickly responded to Milano, reminding her that congressional Democrats have been the political party that has been "blocking covid relief."
"Alyssa, facts matter," stated Sen. Cruz. "Dems have TWICE filibustered $500Bn in emergency COVID relief. EVERY SINGLE Senate Dem voted to block relief—Pelosi refuses even to talk—bc they believe maximizing economic pain helped Biden & it helps Dems in GA. & they trust the press to cover for them."
One thing Cruz forgot to mention to Milano is that President Donald Trump has asked Speaker Pelosi on several occasions to introduce a 'clean' and stand-alone COVID funding bill. All of Pelosi's stimulus bills have included what Republicans call a "wish list" if ideological pork-barrel projects that have nothing to do with the pandemic.
Congress is back in session this week and it's doesn't look as if they will be able to put differences aside and pass another much-needed COVID stimulus bill before the end of the year.
