This week proves to be a challenging one as President Donald Trump (R) continues to contest the November 3rd election results, and this has caused a dozen Senators and 100+ members of Congress to commit to opposing the certification of the election results. This is a move Democrats have deemed "dangerous," but Texas Rep. Joaquin Castro is not surprised, arguing that Republicans are only following the lead of "Dangerous" Donald Trump.
As a result, this has caused a number of Republicans to reject the attempt to what they believe is an attack on Democracy. Most notably, Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R) and Senator Mitt Romney (R) have both released statements condemning President Trump and Republicans who support him, saying that the arguments are nothing more than conspiracy theories that have largely been debunked.
Democrats have also unloaded on the President with Senator Dick Durbin (D) calling for a criminal probe into the President after a recent conversation was leaked regarding Trump questioning the Georgia Secretary of State over votes.
One Democrat that has been critical of President Trump is Texas Rep. Joaquin Castro (D), who recently took part in an interview with MSNBC to share his thoughts on what he believes the American people are seeing in the potential final days of the Trump administration.
“Donald Trump is the most dangerous president our country has ever known,” said the former presidential candidate.
“His attempts to overturn the will of the American people to stay in office are criminal – and his shameless enablers are undermining the rule of law that protects our democracy.”

Democrats opposed the certification of the 2000 and 2004 presidential elections, and Republicans maintain that they are within legal bounds to be able to do so in arguing that widespread voter fraud was the cause of Biden being the projected winner in November.
