Speaker of House Kevin McCarthy (R) has announced a new list of members of various committees that he says will "shift power back to the American People.
These committees include the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, House Committee on Rules, and the House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition between the U.S. and the Chinese Communist Party.
In a tweet, Speaker McCarthy stated, “Under Dem control, House committees were used to target political opponents and reward allies at the expense of addressing the country's concerns. That ends now. These Republican members will work to shift power back to the American people through their respective committees.”
A few of the new members made statements regarding their newly appointed positions.
I’m honored to be appointed by @SpeakerMcCarthy to the Select Committee on China and continue my work on the Intelligence Committee. Now more than ever, Congress must work to strengthen our economic and national security and address the generational challenges posed by China. https://t.co/j8G7rPiCyL

Investigating China seems to be a top priority for the committee, it will be interesting to see what new policies result from their meetings.
