In a recent interview, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) criticized former president Donald Trump (R) for “attacking” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“Donald Trump attacking Bibi Netanyahu was a huge mistake — it only served to distract from the mission at hand and undercut needed unity at an important moment,” tweeted Gov. DeSantis.
The governor continued to condemn Trump’s comments, stating “A leader should rise above personal grievances and do what’s best for the overall effort. As President, I will focus on what’s best for the American people.”
DeSantis claimed that Trump’s comments against Netanyahu were motivated by the former president’s disdain for the prime minister’s acknowledgment of President Joe Biden’s (D) winning of the 2020 presidential election.
“He harbors resentment to Bibi because Bibi congratulated Biden after the 2020 election. So, it was personal for him to come out and take shots at Bibi just days after Israel had suffered the worst terrorist attack in its history,” said Gov. DeSantis.
In a speech, Trump complimented the Iranian-backed terrorist Hezbollah, calling them “very smart.”
“A leader should rise above that, even if you have personal grievances. Rise above that, show solidarity and do what’s best for the overall effort,” said DeSantis.
The governor continued to criticize Trump's petty and outrageous comments on the terrorists while calling for him to put aside his personal issues with Netanyahu and pay attention to the more important things.
In other news, in a tweet, President Joe Biden (D) recently announced for border wall construction to take place in South Texas. The move has come with much scrutiny, with Texas House Democrats condemning the border wall.
Texas Representative Veronica Escobar (D) claimed that border walls have a totemic aspect that represents the failures of the immigration system.
“Walls are a symbol of our broken immigration system and of the lack of political will in Congress to address immigration reform.”
