Texas Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R) has responded to United Airlines regarding an incident that took place with his wife, his mother-in-law, and his dog. Sharing his story on social media, Rep. Crenshaw discussed the incident involving an “unhinged United agent” and the Vice President of Operations.

Rep. Crenshaw took to social media to share a video, describing the incident and sharing footage of it with his followers. The footage was provided by airport security as Phillip Griffith, the Vice President of Operations, is accused of not allowing Rep. Crenshaw to have the footage.

In the incident, Rep. Crenshaw’s family was turned away from flying with United because of Joey, their dog. Subsequently, Rep. Crenshaw’s wife wanted to book a flight with Southwest, but an “unhinged United agent” attempted “to get the dog, photograph him, and report my wife, so they can never fly again.”

Calling the incident “completely unhinged,” Rep. Crenshaw pursued answers with Griffith, but Rep. Crenshaw showed that he was met with hostility.

Given that Texas is a one-party consent state, the Texas Republican recorded the conversation between himself and Griffith, arguing that Griffith was hostile towards him as well as threatening.

In the conversation, Griffith is allegedly heard saying “I deal with people like you and your wife and customers like you every single day. Let’s go.” Rep. Crenshaw expresses that he wanted answers but for Griffith “it’s combat.”

Griffith accuses Rep. Crenshaw’s wife of being “handsy,” adding that “she was agitated from the very start.” However, upon both Griffth and Rep. Crenshaw viewing the footage, Rep. Crenshaw affirmed that that wasn’t the case.

Both had a heated exchange regarding the incident, and Crenshaw warns that “if United is willing to do this to a Congressman and his family, imagine what they’re willing to do to you.”
