Republicans continue to speak out against Vice President Kamala Harris' (D) choice for vice president. Texas Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R) is the latest conservative to lambast Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D), calling him the "most radical candidate for VP." As Democrats embrace the Harris-Walz ticket, Republicans are sounding the alarm on the alleged most progressive ticket the Democratic Party has ever offered.
The ticket has generated controversy for the Democratic Party after Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro (D) missed out on the vice presidential role because of antisemitism in the party. Despite this, Governor Shapiro has praised the ticket, but Republicans are speaking out against the pair, warning that the Minnesota governor is a radical progressive.
In a series of tweets, Rep. Crenshaw spoke out against Governor Walz, questioning if voters believe he'll be a better "border czar" than Vice President Harris. "He'd rather fund a ladder factory to boost the number of illegal immigrants flooding Texas and other states."
Somehow, Kamala Harris managed to pick the least interesting and most radical candidate for VP from her short list. Governor Walz is a radical progressive, and that’s not just campaign rhetoric or “Republican propaganda”—it’s a cold, hard fact.

On social media, Rep. Crenshaw denounced several policy positions the governor agrees with, warning that they would be disastrous for the country.
Governor Walz has previously suggested that the Electoral College should be eliminated. To this, Rep. Crenshaw argues that "Democrats who wish to abolish the Electoral College and replacing it with a popular vote would ruin representation for rural Americans." "Our country is a democratic republic, designed to ensure that urban city centers (and other majorities_ don't have unchecked power. Governor Walz previously came under scrutiny for calling rural Minnesota "mostly cows and rocks."
Rep. Crenshaw also commented on Governor Walz being endorsed by the Democratic Socialists of America, who expressed that "Harris choosing Walz as a running mate has shown the world that DSA and our allies on the left are a force that cannot be ignored."
Mainstream Democrats have often scoffed at the “socialist” label, knowing full well it’s not a winning governing or electoral philosophy.
