President Donald Trump (R) continues to highlight growing concerns in the middle on the third anniversary of the Abbey Gate bombing. the former president attended a ceremony honoring those who lost their lives on that day, while President Joe Biden (D) and Vice President Kamala Harris (D) did not attend. Though President Biden released a statement on the anniversary of the attack that left 13 service members dead, President Trump is accusing the Biden-Harris Administration of being to blame for the attack.
Early today, President Biden released a statement honoring those who lost their lives during the suicide bombing at Abbey Gate, near Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul on August 26, 2021. The suicide bombing killed 13 service members as well as an estimated 170 Afghani civilians.
In his statement, President Biden honored the fallen while admitting that his commitment to preventing attacks on the United States persists. "We will continue to disrupt terrorist activity, wherever we find it. We will continue to deliver justice to terrorists who plot against America—just as we have over the last three years with the leader of al-Qaeda and the global leader of ISIS," President Biden expressed.
However, House Republicans held a ceremony at Arlington National Ceremony wherein President Trump laid a wreath to honor the fallen, and the President and Vice President were both absent.
In response to the suicide bombing, President Trump has released a video, blaming the Biden-Harris Administration for "the most embarrassing moment in the history of our country."

"Kamala and Crooked Joe's catastrophic withdrawal from Afghanistan has just been horrible for all of us," President Trump said in a video posted on social media. "Three years ago, Kamala and Biden's incompetence left 13 dead warriors, hundreds of civilians killed... and 85 billion worth of the finest military equipment on the planet abandoned to the Taliban. Right into the hands of the Taliban."
Texas Rep. Michael McCaul (R), the House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman, further criticized the Biden-Harris Administration, sharing that he is leading an effort in "investigating the evacuation and will be releasing a full report in the coming weeks." "I will leave no stone unturned to get answers and accountability for the courageous men and women who sacrificed so much for our country.”
