Republicans wanted to hit the ground running after a strong performance on election night, but it seems like there's trouble in paradise. The senate has elected South Dakota Senator John Thune (R) as the Senate Majority Leader, and there appears to be tension in the House. Texas Rep. Chip Roy (R) is now calling out the House for "obstructing" the MAGA agenda.
With Republicans officially taking control of the House, GOP lawmakers are mobilizing to work with President Donald Trump (R) come 2025. However, conflict is brewing between "America First" supporters and alleged "establishment" lawmakers.
Rep. Roy, who is a self-avowed "America First" lawmaker, is now calling out those Republican lawmakers, accusing them of "obstructing" Congress' ability to carry out the agenda of President Trump. Instead, he argues that those GOP lawmakers are "spending time on 'retaliation' in House rules rather than working together to deliver." This, he adds, has made it difficult for Republicans to rally behind House Speaker Mike Johnson (R).
In a lengthy post on X, the Texas congressman aired his grievances with his Republican colleagues, something he's never been shy of doing.

"Instead of wasting time with counterproductive efforts demanding we hand over our voting cards to 'the party,' we should be focused right now on developing legislation around which we can unite to deliver on President Trump's agenda," he wrote, outlining that the agenda includes "taking a sledge-hammer to the federal bureaucracy," "securing the border and deporting illegal aliens," "restoring American energy dominance," "rooting out radical wokeism," "restoring military dominance but stopping endless wars," "making America healthy again," "ending inflation and restoring prosperity by cutting spending & regulations," and "generally restoring common sense."
Essentially telling his Republican colleagues to "get it together," Rep. Roy argued that they cannot return to the "swamp politics" of the past, calling on his GOP colleagues to come together and "'fight, fight, fight,' for the American people."
