Representative Brian Babin (R-TX) appeared on Fox News and discussed Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and his job security after President-elect Donald Trump (R) gave him an endorsement. Republicans have a razor-slim majority in the House of Representatives heading into the 119th Congress and could lose it during the midterms, as history normally shows.
Therefore, it appears Trump and the Republicans will need to get a lot done while they have control of all three branches of government from 2025-2027.
Rep. Babin stated that Speaker Johnson has one of, if not the hardest job in the world as Speaker of the House.

"Absolutely, yes. I think he's probably got one of the most impossible jobs in the entire world, I would think. He's trying to walk a tightrope with a one, two, maybe three seat majority, and it's very, very difficult. I can tell you, I don't know some of these folks, and I'm friends with a lot of them that you may call naysayers," said Rep. Babin. "Quite frankly, I don't know what their plan B is. Who are they going to run? It took us almost a month to get Mike Johnson elected last year or earlier this year, and so we've got an opportunity that the Lord God has given us."
Furthermore, Rep. Babin continued by saying that with the mandate given to the GOP this cycle, it should focus less on in-fighting and more on working for the American people.
"The American people have given us a mandate to fix this country, and we don't want to be spending weeks again choosing another speaker when we really don't know who that speaker could possibly [be]," said Babin. "Mike, he's got an impossible job, as I've said, we've got to keep him in there. We've got a Republican House and a Republican Senate. We're going to have Trump in the White House. We can't be squandering away days and weeks trying to pick a speaker when we've got an agenda to pass this to save this country."
