In an op-ed for The Washington Times, U.S. Representative August Pfluger (R) criticized the Biden-Harris Administration's energy policies and highlighted Republican energy priorities included in the Working Families Tax Cuts Act.

Pfluger, who represents the Permian Basin, emphasized the foundational role energy plays in everyday American life, from heating homes to fueling innovation.

"Affordable and abundant energy is essential," Pfluger wrote. "Our region's success is built on the hard work of energy workers, our unique resources, and the companies powering it all."

Pfluger accused the Biden administration of prioritizing "woke environmental extremist" over American families, arguing that its policies led to higher energy costs and a less reliable electric grid.

He credited President Trump and the Republican-led Congress with quickly reversing course, including through the passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

Pfluger argues that the legislation is a significant win for American energy and jobs. He described it as pro-worker, pro-business, and pro-energy.

The op-ed highlights Republican efforts to reestablish U.S. energy independence by cutting regulations, expanding domestic energy production, and reinforcing infrastructure.

Pfluger framed these steps as economic necessities and national security imperatives.

As energy policy continues to define partisan divides, Pfluger's message reinforces the Republican commitment to fossil fuel development.
