Trump Announces He's Putting $1 Billion Into Fixing On-Base Housing for Troops

President Trump told troops at Fort Bragg Tuesday he is pouring $1 billion into fixing on-base housing, as part of his One Big Beautiful Bill.

What is the money being invested in?

The $1 billion is being invested in on-base housing and possibly more at Fort Bragg in North Carolina.

What did the President say?

  • "As part of the One Big Beautiful Bill that we got approved--which was amazing because it really encompasses all four years of the term-- we will also be investing over a billion dollars to improve on-base housing and a lot more than that at Fort Bragg."
  • "If we get the Congressman's wish, we're going to be doing a lot more than that."

Fort Bragg houses thousands of people, with a population of 48,775 active-duty soldiers, 3,597 reserve components and temporary duty students. Additionally, there are 17,345 civilian employees and contractors and 70,109 active-duty family members.

Housing upgrades will benefit all the people living in their privatized on-base housing.

"As part of the One Big Beautiful Bill that we got approved--which was amazing because it really encompasses all four years of the term-- we will also be investing over a billion dollars to improve on-base housing and a lot more than that at Fort Bragg," Trump told troops Tuesday.

Renovations on the base began in Jan. 2025 and have been rolling out over the following year. With the $1 billion, renovations will continue and major updates are to be seen soon.

"If we get the Congressman's wish, we're going to be doing a lot more than that," Trump told troops Tuesday.

Renovations to the base will continue in the coming months, with more funding received from the Trump administration.
