As states like Florida and Texas continue to receive criticism over lifting COVID-19 restrictions, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky is expressing her worry over what these actions could mean during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. In short, Walensky and the CDC shared that following in the footsteps of Florida and Texas could spell “impending doom” for the future.
On Sunday over Twitter, Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) shared an update on COVID-19 statistics in the Lone Star state. “Today the 7-day Covid positivity rate dropped to a new recorded low: 4.95%,” he informed, adding that “hospitalizations dropped to a 6 month low,” “this week we have 1 million 1st vaccines available,” “everyone now qualifies for a shot,” and “they are highly recommended to prevent getting Covid but always voluntarily.”
This update comes after two weeks when the Governor lifted COVID-19 mandates, which gave way to businesses being able to operate at 100% capacity.
Sery Kim (R), a Congressional candidate for Texas’ 6th district, was interviewed on the matter, where she expressed that “the CDC Director under Joe Biden doesn’t seem to understand science.”
“There are three scientific facts that are self-evident,” Kim explained, noting that “since Texas lifted the mask mandate, 17% less people contracted coronavirus.” For “the second important scientific data,” Kim explained that “Governor Ron DeSantis… kept his state opened, and they have the exact same number of COVID contractions as the sexual predator who is the Governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo.” Finally, Kim shared that “the CDC exists to do modeling about how health is being taken in the world.” However, she feels “they have intentionally chosen to manipulate the fact that Coronavirus was actually started in a Wuhan lab.”
“The CDC, under Joe Biden, has manipulated the fact that China, full stop, is writing the World Health Organization report on the origin of Coronavirus,” Kim concluded, asserting that President Joe Biden (D) and Vice President Kamala Harris (D) are “perpetuating the Chinese narrative that this Coronavirus disease started in Europe.”
