Texas Representative Donna Howard (D) took to Twitter to share news of a new bipartisan bill known as the Tax FREE Act.

“Today, the TX House made #txlege history - HB 300 is on its way to the Senate! This is the first time a bill of this nature has made it this far in the process. Thank you to @DadePhelan for making this a House priority and to my colleagues for their support!”

“Today, the Texas House, on a bipartisan basis, passed House Bill 300. HB 300, also known as the Tax FREE (Family Relief for Everyday Essentials) Act would provide Texans with sales tax relief at every stage of life,” reads the statement.

The Texas lawmaker highlighted the lengthy process it took for the bill to come to fruition. “It is a bill that is years in the making, and I am grateful to Speaker Phelan for making it a priority this session.”

“I am proud to champion this effort along with other members of the House and look forward to working with my Senate counterparts to get this bill to Governor Abbott’s desk,” continued Rep. Howard.

This bill marks another entry into the bipartisan efforts and legislation that has recently occurred in the state of Texas.

Recently Senate Bills 3, 4 and 5 were passed by the Texas Senate.

Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick (R) emphasized how the bills focused on taxes and how they affect Texans.

“This will save homeowners thousands of dollars over the lifetime of their mortgage. Today, I am proud that the Texas Senate has passed this landmark $16.5 billion tax relief package for Texans, the largest in history,” stated Lt. Gov. Patrick
