Former President Donald Trump (R) has officially been indicted and arraigned, and the reactions and statements from Texas politicians are now being made.
Texas Representative Joaquin Castro (D) shared his thoughts on how the former President’s actions would affect “American democracy”.
“To allow a president to break the law with impunity would set a dangerous precedent for American democracy, encouraging future presidents to do the same,” stated Rep. Castro.
“May justice be served.”

Unlike Rep. Castro, Texas Representative Wesley Hunt (R) shared his disapproval of the arraignment of the former President.
“Equal justice under the law died today. Political prosecution is a serious threat to democratic societies.”
“Regardless of how you personally feel about President Trump, you should be very alarmed by what just happened in New York. Our country will never be the same again.”

“One of the main dangers of political prosecution is that it destroys freedom. When individuals are punished for their political beliefs, it creates a climate of fear and intimidation.”

“The left would have you believe there’s no problem with this as long as it’s happening to Trump. But Trump is just in their way. Trump is a symbol of resistance, and they want that symbol crushed, by any means necessary.”

“Pray for President Trump, pray for our country, and get involved. Our political system is collapsing because for far too long we’ve turned a blind eye to the slow creep of Marxism in our institutions. America is in uncharted waters.”

The Manhattan District Attorney in charge of the investigation, Alvin Bragg (D), shared his reasoning for indicting the former Pres. Trump.
