Texas Representative Dan Crenshaw has fired back against Judge Robert Hinkle’s recent ruling against the ban on puberty blockers for Florida minors.
“A Clinton-appointed judge blocked Florida's ban on transgender procedures for minors. This is an actual quote from his decision:”, tweeted Rep. Crenshaw.
The Texas lawmaker then shared an excerpt of Judge Hinkle’s statement on the case.
“‘The plaintiffs' adolescent children will suffer irreparable harm — the unwanted and irreversible onset of and progression of puberty in their natal sex — if they do not promptly begin treatment with GnRH agonists.’”
Crenshaw then gave his interpretation of what he believed the judge’s statement actually meant.
“Translation: allowing these children to fully develop without pumping them full of puberty blockers and chemicals will cause ‘irreparable harm.’ Because that makes *so* much sense,” stated Crenshaw.
The Texas congressman continued his statement, calling for the end of gender transition surgeries on minors.
“We should protect our children from the REAL harm of irreversible, unnecessary procedures. Not playing along with 11-year-olds’ confused fantasies about changing their gender,” tweeted Crenshaw.
The Texas lawmaker went on to state that the adults were to blame and lawbreakers.
“All the adults involved in this are abusers, pure and simple. In a hundred years, when science is back to normal, we will think of these people as criminals and wonder how this could have happened.”
In his ruling, Hinkle stated that the surgeries would cause harm to no one. However, that is the exact claim that those opposed to the ruling have a problem with.
The ruling technically only applies to the three minors whose parents brought forth the lawsuit. Nevertheless, the bill has expectedly drawn the ire and attention of several people.
In other news, Texas Representative Veronica Escobar (D) recently released a statement explaining why she voted to pass the Bipartisan Budget Agreement.
“Today I voted to pass the Bipartisan Budget Agreement to put an end to the political games Republicans are playing with our economy and the livelihood of millions of American households,” said Rep. Escobar.
