The Texas GOP released a statement detailing a series of resolutions condemning anti-Semitism, as well as censuring a fellow congressman and mourning the loss of a colleague.
“NEW: Texas GOP Resolutions Supporting Israel, and Condemning anti-Semitism. Chairman @MattRinaldiTX stated, ‘Texas Republicans unanimously passed two resolutions supporting Israel and condemning anti-Semitism on the same day Texas Democrats unanimously passed a resolution siding with Hamas,’” reads the tweet.
“This is not surprising, considering Democrats elect and celebrate Hamas sympathizers like Rashida Tlaib and remain silent on the rampant anti-Semitism in their party that has reared its ugly head on college campuses and in protests across the nation. Republicans stand with Israel and our Jewish citizens.’”

The three resolutions covered issues including a reaffirmation of anti-semitism, supporting Israel’s right to exist, advocating the destruction of Hamas and mourning the innocent who were murdered in the attack.
The resolutions also included the censorship of Texas Representative Andrew Murr (R). Rep. Murr previously brought forth a bill banning party members from associating with Nazi sympathizers. However, those in the GOP who opposed his measure stated his bill was too vague and could cause a “slippery slope.” Rep. Murr’s bill and censorship come after he criticized many members of the Texas GOP for being seen associating with a Nazi sympathizer who promoted war against Jews.
The last resolution listed in the statement was for Elizabeth Grace Peterson. Peterson was a conservative activist. According to the resolution, “Grace honorably served as the elected member of the State Republican Executive Committee (SREC) from Senate District 20 from 2020 until her passing.”
The GOP has struggled to remain unified on many issues so the list of resolutions is interesting. Recently, the party has tried to get aid to Israel. However, despite having some bipartisan support, the bill has failed for its lack of funding for Ukraine. This line of thinking has caused a delay in aid to Israel which is currently fighting the terrorist organization Hamas.
