The cat's out of the bag, and Ohio Senator J.D. Vance (R) is President Donald Trump's (R) pick for vice president. As the Republican Party unified around the new ticket, embracing the party's platform, one Republican found himself dismayed with the evening. Texas Rep. Chip Roy (R) called the start of the Republican National Convention "pandering," calling on the party to be more productive.
The Texas lawmaker has not been shy about calling his party out on numerous occasions. In his latest comments, Rep. Roy took issue with the message that the Republican Party conveyed on day 1 of the Republican National Convention.

Taking to social media to comment on the event, he shared that "everyone gets the joke, but let's hope the next three nights at the GOP Convention are less about pandering & more about making the government small & inconsequential enough that everyone can achieve the American Dream while living in a safe & secure nation."
Florida Rep. Mike Waltz (R), the co-Chair of the Platform Committee, discussed the nature of the Republican Platform on day 1. Announcing that it had been approved by President Trump, Rep. Waltz noted that the platform was designed with "the forgotten men and woman of America" in mind.
In speaking to attendees, the Florida Republican shared some of the issues that the Platform will address: "We will close our disastrously open border, we will defend our justice system, we will restore our economy, we will unleash American energy and flood the world with clean, cheap American oil and gas... and most of all we will strengthen our depleted military and make it stronger again."
"This platform, the leadership of President Trump, we will destroy inflation - we're gonna send a cruise missile right into the heart of it - and we will bring back the American Dream," Rep. Waltz vowed.
