Under the tutelage of the Harris-Walz ticket, Democrats are taking a swing at red states, claiming that they're in play at turning blue. Texas, a traditionally red state, has decidedly voted for President Donald Trump (R) in the last two elections. Could the 2024 presidential election yield a different result? Texas Rep. Beth Van Duyne (R) doesn't buy a looming color switch, arguing instead that "President Trump has earned the Texas vote."

In a recent interview with NewsMax, Rep. Van Duyne was asked to share her thoughts on comments that former Texas Rep. Beto O'Rourke (D) recently made regarding the upcoming election. Like many Democrats, Rep. O'Rourke believes that November could see Texas turning blue. However, Rep. Van Duyne thinks that voters shouldn't pay any mind to the former long shot presidential candidate. "I don't know what Beto's been smoking, but I also know that that man has lost 3 statewide elections, so he's really not familiar with the voters in Texas," she said.

Simply put, the Texas Republican believes that Texas will overwhelmingly reject Vice President Kamala Harris (R) in the voting booth because of the policies she supports.

"She wants to get rid of the oil and gas industry. You tell me how that's gonna fly in Texas," she questioned. "When you got not only our economy that's dependent on that, but millions of Texans who actually had jobs in that sector, I don't think that's going to fly."

Rep. Van Duyne also highlighted an influx of illegal immigration, calling it "the number one most number of illegal immigrants to come into our state." "That is a direct result of Kamala Harris' not doing her job."

She warned that this influx has led to a significant rise in crime, sex trafficking, drug trafficking, and she affirmed that issues like this are important to Texans.
